MASSAGE THERAPY

My bodywork style varies depending on the needs of my clients, but generally incorporates a range from Swedish/relaxation to functional deep-tissue. I draw upon my in-depth knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics to target specific areas in the body that will help unwind an overall structural issue, understanding that the site of pain is often not the root cause of the pain. I incorporate elements of neuromuscular, lymphatic, craniosacral, and energetic modalities into my practice. I also specialize in scar tissue release and helping clients both before and after surgery to achieve optimum wellness. I have studied both formally and informally with mentors in a variety of disciplines, from osteopathy, the Rolfing method of structural integration, Chinese medicine, and various forms of spiritual and shamanic medicine, and I bring what I have learned in these explorations to my practice when appropriate. I am always willing to research and learn more when a client brings me a condition I am unfamiliar with, refer to other healers or resources when needed, and to be available for additional guidance and support when possible or necessary. My goal in every session is to empower you on your personal healing journey, and support you in restoring balance to your body and finding lasting relief from ailments of any kind.

OTHER WORK

Yoga

I received my 200-hr certification in 2013 from Yoga Tree in San Francisco and have taught yoga on and off since then. I have additional training in yoga therapy (though I did not complete that rather extensive certification due to the pandemic shutdowns and the river of life taking me in other directions). I often do private sessions, both remote and in person, where I incorporate corrective exercises and energy work into the deep teachings of yoga to best assist my clients in their overall wellness and healing.

Astrology

I have been studying astrology informally for over 10 years and have occasionally been presented with the opportunity to read charts for retreats, etc. I use astrology as a tool for inner exploration and to help align with a greater Curriculum for one’s spiritual and personal growth. There are various valuable frameworks available for us to use as we investigate ourselves, and astrology has many benefits – it is a tangible wisdom tradition that categorizes the forces of nature and humanity in a way that transcends right/wrong and good/evil, and can be grounded in the realities of the seasons and the movement of visible planetary bodies such as the moon. I have found that having a working understanding of one’s astrological chart augments the somatic work I do with my clients as well, and I am happy to incorporate this wisdom into an overall maintenance and healing plan.

Editing and Ghostwriting

In addition to my career in the healing arts I have also worked as a ghostwriter, developmental editor, and manuscript reviewer. I have experience in both fiction and nonfiction writing, and tend to focus more on books and other long-form writing rather than social media posts or blogs. I am passionate about helping people bring their creative ideas to fruition, and understand that the process is deeper than simply the refining the mechanics of wordcraft (although this is essential) – there is a mental and spiritual component to this work as well.
